| The main motivation for this workshop is to discuss the viability and potential impact of the creation of a Scientific Software Innovation Institute (S2I2) that would support open source scientific software development. The PI's believe that with our unique experience as leaders in the Sage and SciPy projects, and our community connections, we could put together a workshop and corresponding report that would answer many questions that are relevant to such an institute. |
